The last ones

Ce sont les dernières chemises de ma collection. Des chemises faites à la main par ma grand mère ou mon arrière grand mère pour leurs trousseaux, d'autres que j'avais dégotées dans des marchés aux puces. Elles ont chacune leurs particularités. 

J'ai aussi une collection de catalogues des débuts des grands magasins de confection : Le Bon Marché, La Samaritaine, les Galeries Lafayette qui datent des années 1920 - 1930. Ces catalogues appartenaient à mes arrière-grands-parents qui à cette époque vivaient à Paris. Mon arrière-grand-père était un artisan et travaillait les baleines des corsets. 

J'ai choisi de partager et disperser ma collection de chemises anciennes sur Etsy, en revanche je ne me sépare pas de mes catalogues. Ils constituent une source d'inspiration intarissable!

These are the last chemises of my collection. Hand sewn and embroidered some by the hand of my great grand mother and my grand mother for their trousseau, others found in french flea markets. Each one is unique and singular.

I also have a collection of old catalogues from the first big french shops (1920s 1930s) as Le Bon Marché, La Samaritaine, Les Galeries Lafayette that I cherish dearly. They belonged to my great-grand parents who were living in Paris at this time. My great-grand-father was an artisan and used to make "corsets".

I've decided to part from my vintage camisoles on Etsy but I would never part from these catalogues. They are inspiring me daily!

Comme vous pouvez le constater, les chemises étaient portées sous le corset.

As you can see these camisoles were worn as underwear under the corset.
