My creative space
Back to lace!

I've often talk about my drawer of lace...so here are some.
I've always collected old linen, bits and scraps of lace. They are my cherished treasures. Sometimes I pull them out, refold them, sort them, admire them and I wonder at the hours our grand-mothers and all these women, their hands and eyes that have worked to produces these marvels!
The most difficult is to recognize them : Valenciennes, Lille, Calais, Bruges, Venise....There is a website I love to read about lace...unfortunately only in french http://dentelle-et-papillon.over-blog.com

Enjoy! These are my collect of the day!!! I'm very happy with these little treasures!
I was looking for a jeweller saw for a little while, and I found this old one, with a little cat engraved on the frame!
I found several vintage dainty chains, all with their clasp,  some gorgeous pieces of antique lace :  a cuff, a crochet collar, a delicate trim, this incredible domed glass, and a box full of copper rivets!!!
The jewels were offered to me by a very dear friend of mine and are from her grand-mother.
This was a great day!!!

Les dernières
The last ones

These are the last chemises of my collection. Hand sewn and embroidered some by the hand of my great grand mother and my grand mother for their trousseau, others found in french flea markets. Each one is unique and singular.
I also have a collection of old catalogues from the first big french shops (1920s 1930s) as Le Bon Marché, La Samaritaine, Les Galeries Lafayette that I cherish dearly. They belonged to my great-grand parents who were living in Paris at this time. My great-grand-father was an artisan and used to make "corsets".
I've decided to part from my vintage camisoles on Etsy but I would never part from these catalogues. They are inspiring me daily!

Voici tout de même un petit aperçu :
Here is some of them, enjoy!

As you can see these camisoles were worn as underwear under the corset.
